Director of Marketing Communications & Engagement - Matchbook Learning & The Match High School

Indianapolis, IN
Full Time
Mid Level

Our Vision

At Matchbook Learning, we believe that every child—regardless of background or circumstance—deserves to be deeply known, loved, and flourishing. We are actively transforming what was once the lowest-performing school in the city and state into a place of academic excellence, student development, and opportunity.

Our mission is to personalize learning within a restorative community, fostering resilience and excellence while preparing students for real-world pathways. We are working to reverse the cycle of generational poverty by replacing it with a multi-generational cycle of opportunity and achievement—helping students grow from Kindergarten through 12th grade with personalized learning, strong self-awareness, and mastery of vocational or collegiate pathways aligned with their passions and potential.

Who We Are

Matchbook Learning is a non-profit charter management organization with two public charter schools in Indianapolis:

  • Matchbook Learning at Wendell Phillips School 63, a K–8 charter restart serving 750+ students in partnership with IPS and authorized by the City of Indianapolis.

  • The Match High School and Career Center, launched in 2024 with a 9th-grade class and expanding to a full career and technical academy by 2027. Students will have access to vocational tracks such as welding, construction, electrical work, entrepreneurship, healthcare, and more, housed in two newly developed facilities in partnership with Trine University.

We are building an integrated K–12 continuum supported by over 50 community-based partnerships.

Our Opportunity

In a community long labeled as “failing,” Matchbook Learning and The Match High School represent a bold new promise: to provide students with a high-quality, future-focused education that bridges academic learning, community connections, and career readiness.

By leveraging advances in technology and the science of learning—combined with meaningful, real-world skill development—we are creating a new, adaptable education model. This is your opportunity to help co-create and communicate that vision.
